The Caltech Associates has a long and celebrated history of enabling the Institute’s faculty, students, and postdoctoral scholars to do extraordinary things. Our legacy is intertwined with world-changing research and education.
In 2020, at the outset of the COVID-19 era, the Associates introduced a special opportunity for our members to help Caltech scientists and engineers pursue their ambitions to make the world a better, healthier, and more inclusive place. The Associates President's Discretionary Fund provides immediate, flexible resources so that President Rosenbaum can address top priorities, changing needs, and emerging opportunities at the Institute.
Contributions to the President's Fund fortifies Caltech in the face of obstacles and complications brought by the pandemic and beyond. When in-person instruction was temporarily suspended, it fueled the enhancement of online learning programs that allowed students to safely pursue their training in the Institute's signature approach to solving problems and exploring fundamental science.
Members of the Associates have contributed over $275,000 to the President's Fund, and we continue to seek support from the community so that Caltech may thrive regardless of the obstacles we face together.
