The Associates, a support organization for Caltech that began in 1926, has over 1,475 memberships throughout the United States and abroad. The Associates is composed of a diverse cross section of members of the local and business community, Caltech alumni and faculty, and philanthropists.

The Associates provides unrestricted support to Caltech through membership contributions. In addition, individual members have contributed funds for over 37 campus buildings, 52 endowed professorships, and literally millions of dollars in support of fellowships and scholarships. The Associates plays a valuable role in fostering intimate connections among the worlds of academia, science, engineering, business, and philanthropy. Staying true to the organization’s original vision, the group continues to bring individuals from business and the local community into the Caltech fold.

In Southern California, Northern California, and on the East Coast, Associates members have the opportunity to attend a wide range of stimulating lectures and other events that feature Caltech faculty discussing revolutionary science and research. The Caltech Associates also provide members with invaluable opportunities to meet, network, and socialize with like-minded individuals who are intellectually curious about the world.

Besides sponsoring an exciting range of programs year-round, the Associates offers members the chance to travel with Caltech’s world-renowned researchers. Whether faculty are leading an international excursion or a daylong field trip, they strive to showcase the unique aspects of a particular site. In this way they share their expertise with the group and enrich their learning experience.
